ARCHILBALD. We understand that three separate parties from Richland have gone in pursuit of the supposed assassins of Thos. Archibald, whose death, at his own gate at night, at the hands of parties unknown who had called him out, we mentioned last week. It is now generally believed that Mr. Archibald was killed because he was an important witness against some cow thieves. ---Ouachita Telegraph. Additional Comments: The Mr. Archibald listed is Thomas Theodore Archibald (November 17, 1816- September 2, 1873). He was the oldest son of Thomas Archibald, Jr. and Sarah F. Luckey. Thomas Theodore Archibald married Emaline Hill on May 7, 1840 in Greene County, Alabama. They had one daughter, Elizabeth Francis Archibald, born around 1842.
