All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Newspaper clipping from THE MONROE MORNING WORLD, October 26, 1975 Mrs. Adella Brown DELHI - Funeral services for Mrs. Adella Nobles Brown, 76, of Archibald will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Lone Cherry Baptist Church in Mangham with the Revs. Doyle Adams, Alfred Garvin, and Woodrow Northcutt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Kidder Cox Funeral Home of Delhi. She died Friday night at the Richland Nursing Home in Delhi after a lengthy illness. Survivors are her husband, Monroe E. (Ed) Brown of Archibald, five sons, Cecil Brown and Gene Brown, both of Baskin, Randle R. Brown of Shreveport, Jack Brown of Delhi, and Noble Brown of Archibald; five Daughters, Mrs. Myrtis Flint and Mrs. Pearlie Weems, both of Delhi, Mrs. Myrtle Haire of Rayville, Mrs. Edna Southall of Mangham, and Mrs. Jewel Dear of Waskom, Tex.; two brothers, Willie Nobles of Start and Robert Nobles of Mangham; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Miller of Rayville and Mrs. Mittie Valentine of Winnsboro; 28 grandchildren and 36 great- grandchildren. Submitter's Notes: Annie Adella Nobles Brown, the daughter of James Runnells "Jim" Nobles and Elizabeth Dorcas Crawford Nobles, was born September 29, 1899, in Brandon, Rankin County, MS, and died October 24, 1975, in Delhi, Richland Parish, LA. She married Monroe Edward "Ed" Brown in Rayville, Richland Parish, LA on April 2, 1916.
