All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** * Alber Kyles Mills Sr. Funeral services for Albert Kyle Mills, Sr.,88, of Rayville, LA. were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January. 31,2001, at the Rayville First Baptist Church with Dr. Ernest Winburn officiating. Burial followed in the Rayville Masonic Cemetery, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home of Rayville. Mr.Mills was born Aug.24,1912 in Lena, MS. and passed away January 28, 2001 at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville. Mr. Mills moved to Rayville in 1935 and managed the Jitney Jungle store, later on managing the George B. Franklin and Son Commisary in Holly Ridge until 1955, when he purchased the Rayville Food Store. He retired in 1976, but missed seing his friends and came out of retirement to work 12 years at Planters Seed & Feed in Rayville. Many friends still use the Recipe Book of his customers' recipes which he compiled at the Rayville Food Store. He was a long time member of the Rayville First Baptist Church and Men's Adult Class #3. He was preceded indeath by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Carl Mills; his brothers, Clifton, Curron, Pellam and Tom Mills; his sister, Ruby Lyles; and two grandchildren, Cathy Wilkerson and Joe Bruyninckx. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nita Branch Mills; his daughter Frances Coenen and her husband, Theo; his son, Kyle Mills Jr and his wife Virginia, his daughter Debra Bruyninckx; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons, Ted Coenen, Chris Coenen, Brad Coenen, Jason Bruynincks, Kyle Bailey Bruynincks, Sonny Mills and Cliff Mills. Honorary pallbearers were those who worked for him as former bag boys at athe Rayville Food Store and the members of the Men's Adult #3 Sunday School Class. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved sports and especially watching his children and grandchildren. Mr. Mills was well known and loved throughout the area and will be missed on the sidelines of football and basketball games.
