Frey, of the Fifth ward, returned to its home in Heaven from whence it had come only a few short months ago to make its home for just a short while on this earth below. She was just 11 months and 1 day old when God took her, but during those few months she had so entwined herself about the hearts of all the embers of the home, that she was idolized by them all. To the heartbroken father and mother and the weeping brothers and sisters we offer our tenderest and most heartfelt sympathy, for we know from bitter experience the sacrifice they have been called upon to make. This little one was loaned you for a while to give you deeper insight into and a clearer vision of what Heaven really is, and to bind you with one more strong link to it. Heaven is now nearer and dearer to these sorrowing ones than ever before, for they know their loved one is there "safe in the arms of Jesus". While here on earth, she was "as a living jewel dropped unstained from heaven." You scarce could think so small a thing Could leave a loss so large: Her little light such a shadow fling From dawn to sunset's marge. In other springs our life may be In bannered bloom unfurled, But never, never match our wee Annie Lou of all the world.
