The Revs. Harold Spillers and Jimmy Dale Gibson officiated. Burial was in the McKnight Cemetery in Rayville, under the direction of Mulhearn’s Funeral Home of Rayville. Mr. Winstead died in his residence last Thursday, November 23, 1978, after a brief illness. He was a native of Pike county, AR., a member of Mount Calvary Baptist church and a World War II veteran. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Winstead of Rayville; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Jones of Longview, Texas and Miss Alice Winstead of Rayville; four sons, Tommy, Alex, and James Winstead of Rayville, and Wayne Winstead of Start; four sisers, Mrs. Emma Vandever of Hattiesburg MS., Mrs. Margaret Carter of Dunn, Mrs. Onna Jones of Rayville and Mrs. Mary Gushock of Phoenix, Arizona; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Vernon Thomas, Jerry Goynes, Luther Horn, Earl Patrick, and Billy Joe chunn.
