On Sunday evening we learned while on our way to Mangham from Dr. J.S. Watson, that Mr. Ewell Boies, a popular young man of Mangham, was very low and would probably die with pneumonia, and at 10 minutes to 9 P.M. all that was mortal of Mr. Boies departed in death. Deceased was in his twenty-sixth year. It was indeed sad to witness the scene on Sunday of relatives and sympathizing friends endeavoring to administer to the wants of one who was greatly admired by them, as his young life seemed to be hanging, as it were, by a brittle thread. The deep interest manifested toward the young man was an evidence of the esteem in which he was held by all. He was a quite unassuming young man of good moral character. It is sad to lose young men of that kind, as they are too scarce in this day of vice and immorality. "May he rest in peace." Additional Comments: In Memoriam - Ewell Boies departed this life on Sunday the 9th inst. at 9 o'clock P.M. after an illness of nine days.Ewell was bereft of a mother's loving care at a tender age, and when quite a youth, the orphan was adopted into J.L. Boies' (his uncle) family. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/richland/obits/b/boies3782gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
