All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Barbara Ellis McEacharn Funeral services for Barbara Ellis McEacharn, 78, of Delhi will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the Delhi Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Lipe officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi. Interment will be in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi. Barbara graduated from Neville High School and Northeast Junior College where she served as cheerleader and homecoming queen. She was previously employed by Columbia Gulf, Delhi Manufacturing, John Deere and taught art to many people in the Delhi area at her shop, The Place, and still continued to paint to the very end. She was instrumental in the founding of the NELA Livestock Show Pageant. Barbara loved to cook and her door was always open to family and friends. She was uplifting, never met a stranger and showed remarkable strength and courage throughout her 49 year crippling battle with rheumatoid arthritis. Even after her diagnosis of cancer, she kept a cheerful attitude; an encourgagement to all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred & Marguerite Ellis, a brother, Wilfred Ellis Jr. and her husband Neal Doyle McEacharn Sr. She is survived by four children, Neal Doyle McEacharn Jr. and wife Diane of Delhi, Kenneth McEacharn and wife Loretta of St. Joseph, Bruce McEacharn and wife Shari of Delhi and Cathy Brown and husband Mark of Lake Providence and "MeMaw's" nine grandchildren, Cole and Molly McEacharn, Aubrey and Riley McEacharn, Mary Kate and Kelly McEacharn and Nathan, Sara Jo and Neal Brown. Pallbearers will be Bruce Parker, Donald Tweddle, Ronnie Strain, Richard Lemoine, John Ellis, Max Dixon, David McEacharn and Mike McEacharn. The family would like to express a special appreciation to Richland Parish Hospital-Delhi Staff, Delhi Home Health and Crossroads Hospice and her special friends who were there for her through her times of need.
