She was a devoted daughter, an obedient child and a beloved sister. Mai Ida was born Aug. 6, 1900. She was 17 years, 9 months and 18 days old. She united with the Baptist church in 1915. She was a good Christian lady having made peace with God in the very bloom of life and lived as she died, a Christian. All who knew her loved her. She has gone to rest. She leaves a father and mother, five sisters and two brothers, many relatives and a host of friends to mourn her departure. Dear friends and relatives, do not mourn and weep for she cannot come back to us, but we can go to her. She was always ready with open hands and a devoted heart to support the cause of Christ. She filled every position placed on her in home and church. There is an inspiration in such a life. We know from the life she lived and spent for God, that she is only sleeping to be awakened on the resurrection morn to hear the Savior say: "“Well done thou good and faithful servant, thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things, how precious are the saints in the eyes of the Lord."” It was the writer’s privilege to be her pastor for 3 years. After service by her pastor she was laid to rest in Lone Cherry cemetery in the presence of a host of friends and relatives. P. M. Gaddis Mangham, La.
