Sims Services for Mrs. Dixie Blissard Sims 85 of Rayville, LA will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Rayville United Methodist Church with Rev. Ted Freeland officiating. Interment will follow in Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA. Mrs. Dixie was a member of Rayville United Methodist Church and The Something More Sunday School Class a charter member of the Rayville Arts and Civic Club and Past member of the Louisiana Ladies Golf Association. A loving Mother, Grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josiah and Zola Mae Blissard; husband, DeSha Sims; daughter, Sherry Sims Williams; father and mother-in-law, Hoytt Sims and Annie Louise DeSha Sims; brother, Doris Blissard and sister, Irene Deatheridge. She is survived by her daughter, Jacklyn Sims Branch and her husband, Larry G. of Rayville, LA; a son, Hoytt DeSha Sims, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Rayville, LA; son-in-law, Sam O. Williams of Rayville, LA; sisters, Betty Baines of Big Springs, TX and Joann Ridgeway of Lubock, TX; grandchildren, Mark K. Branch and his wife, Amy, David J. Branch and his wife, Evelyn, R. Ken Branch and his wife, Jenny, J. Dan Branch and his wife, Nikkole, Hoytt Desha Sims, III, N. Chandler Sims, Samantha Ann Williams McIness and her husband, Proctor and Wendy Paige Williams Carbo and her husband, Jeff; step grandchildren, Jason Bradley Clark and his wife, Molly and R. Brandon Clark; great grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Blake, David Joe, Connor, Haleigh, Maryanna, Erin, Mallory, Emily and Katelyn Branch, Lawson and Sterrett, McIness, Will Carbo and Jada Clark along with a host of nieces and nephews and faithful friend Rosa Webb. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Something More Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or The Rayville United Methodist Church. Visitation will be today from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.
