Chick Harrell, 82, of Delhi, LA., here held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday July 31, 2001, at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Delhi, with the Rev. Steve Hillman officiating. Burial followed in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery, under the direction of Cox Funeral homes of Delhi. Mr. Harrell died July 28, 2001 at the Richland Manor Nursing Home in Delhi. He was born July 19, 1919 in Pelahatchie,MS, to Claude C. Hall and Neva Walker Harrell, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Horace Harrell; his son-in-law, Jerry Piercy; and a granddaughter,Tina Gail Piercy. Mr. Harrell was a retired inspector for the Columbia Gulf Pipeline Transmission Company and a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Delhi. Survivors include his wife, Frances Gaynelle Whitaker Harrell of Delhi, LA; his son, Fred E. Harrell of West Monroe, LA; his daughter, F. Earlene Piercy of Davis, OK; his brothers, Claude Harrell of Monroe, LA and Lester Harrell of Delhi, LA.; his Sisters- Lucille McClusky of Sour Lake, TX, Eloise Harrell of Delhi, LA. and Ola Mae Jarmon of Vicksburg, MS: four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Serving as pallbeares were James Curry, Bill Skipper, Ron Robertson, Lawrence Eldridge, W.B. Dub Sumner and Bud LaPrairie. Honoray pallbearers were R.B. Bob Region, Amos Strain, Curtis McVay and Vernie Mitchell.
