All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** * Elsie Marie Coenen Funeral services for Elsie Marie Kersog McClendon Coenen,80, of Rayville, LA. were held at 10 A.M. on September 19,2001 at the First Baptist Church in Rayville, with the Rev. Ray Spiller officiating. Mrs. Coenen passed away Monday, September 17, 2001, after a lengthy illness. She was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and a respected educator and nursing home administrator. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and a long time member of the Rayville United Methodist Church. She was preceeded in death by her parents, O.W. and Valley O. Getchell; her first husband, B.B. McClendon; her husband William R. Coenen Sr., her son-in-law, Jeffrey Lynn Holdiness; And her granddaughter, Lisa Ann Holdiness. Survivors include her children, John R. “Ricky” McClendon and his wife, Odwina F., of Tulsa, OK.; Ann Coenen Holdiness, of Alto, LA.; Carol Coenen Christie of Houston, TX; William R. Coenen Jr. of Rayville, LA.; Stephen F. Coenen of New Orleans, LA. and Thomas R. Coenen of LaPlace, LA.; her grandchildren- Leigh Holdiness Davis and her husband James of Baton Rouge, LA.;her great grandchildren- Mary Caroline Davis and Benton James McClendon Davis of Baton Rouge, LA.; and a brother Edward Loserog and his wife, Jean. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the ULM Cancer Research center, or to another charity of one’s personal choice.
