 Edward Gerald Bennett


Funeral services for Mr. Edward Gerald Bennett, 69, of Mer Rouge, 
LA, formerly of Rayville were held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Boeuf River 
Baptist Church near Rayville, LA with Reverend Newton Smith and Reverend David 
Herrington officiating. Interment followed in Greer Cemetery in Rayville, LA 
under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Rayville, LA. 

Edward Gerald Bennett was born on March 10, 1937 in Rayville, LA and passed 
away on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Glenwood Regional Medical Centery in West 
Monroe, LA. 

Mr. Bennett was an army veteran and a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phares and Lucy Bennett; brothers, 
Phares Bennett, Jr. and Stephen Daniel Bennett; wives, Elaine Bruce Bennett 
and Elizabeth DeLaney Bennett. 

Survivors include his wife, Althea Mae Bennett of Mer Rouge, LA; sisters, 
Louise Morgan Adcock of Rayville, LA and Gloria Mendoza of Tulsa, OK; brother, 
Bob Bennett of Bastrop, LA; seven step children; numerous step grandchildren, 
step great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
