All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** * Evan James Funeral services for Evan James, 88, of Rayville, LA. were held at 3P.M. on Sunday, September 16,2001, at the Rayville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ray Spiller officiating. Burial followed in the Lone Cherry Cemetery near Mangham, LA., under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville. Mr. James Died September 13,2001, at his residence. He was a member of the Rayville United Methodist Church. After he graduated from Louisiana State University, he was an agriculture teacher for many years before becoming a County Agent with the LSU Extension Service. He later managed a dairy, then became a representative with the Farmer’s Home Administration, of which he retired in 1981. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joel James; A daughter, Aurora Bruno; and two sisters, Lillie Mae Thurman and Emma Hagar. Survivors include his wife, Christine Weems James of Rayville, LA; his son, Mike James and his wife, Lenora, of Baton Rouge, LA; three grandchildren, Christine Bruno and her husband, Brett, of Seattle, WA., Luke James and his wife, Courtney, of Durham, N.C. and Lindsey James of New Orleans, La. and a great granddaughter, Aurora Mae Cato. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any planned Memorials be made to the American Red Cross.
