Dyess Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Della Dyess, 84, of Rayville, LA were held 10:00A.M., thursday July 6, 2006 at Midway Baptist Church of Holly Ridge, LA with Reverend Alvin Stow officiating. Interment followed at McKnight Cemetery, north of Holly Ridge, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home of Rayville. Emma Dyess was born on November 15, 1921 in Springhill, LA and passed away on Monday, July 3, 2006 in Delhi, LA. Mrs. Dyess was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Louis Dyess, Sr; father, William Asbury Nelson; mother, Mittie Houck Nelson; brothers, Ardis Nelson, Rupert Nelson, Newton Nelson and David Nelson; sons, J.C. Dyess, William Dyess and Henry Earl Dyess; daughters, Mary Alice Dyess and Emma Della Dyess; and grandson, Jimmy Peppers. Survivors include her children, Charley Dyess, Jr. of Monroe, LA, John Dyess of Holly Ridge, LA, Newton Dyess of Holly Ridge, LA, Kenneth Dyess, Sr. of Newellton, LA, Martha Billiot and husband Ernest of Delhi, LA, Vivian Jones and husband Mike of Delhi, LA. Mildred Davis and husband Jr. of Delhi, La; sister-in-law, Clydell Nelson of Eros, La; fourteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were William Amburn, Jr, Joseph Billiot, James Davis, Kevin Davis, Kenny Dyess and Vincent Dyess.
