Inzer Sr. Grady Ulas Inzer Sr.,85, December 14, 1918-October 17, 2004, was Bron in Possum Trot, Arkansas near Cale. The eldest son and third offspring of seven children born to Joseph and Ora Inzer. Grady grew up during the Great Depression and the family sharecropped for a time, then purchased acreage in Rayville Louisiana where they farmed mainly cotton. During high school he played football, was a 4H member and raised championship hogs. After graduating form Rayville High he joined the Air Force at the start of World War II, Grady was Crew Chief on the flight Jines at Barksdale Air Force Base and in the 21h Bomb Group sent to the Phillipines. Grady survived the Batann Death March, and Japenese concentration camps for 3Y2 years as an MIA POW. After receiving an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Master Sergeant he attended Baylor University where he graduated with a law degree. After passing the Bar exam he settled in Longview, TX where he practiced law as a criminal defense attorney for 39.5 years in which time he won many well known cases including winning appeals to the United Supreme Court. Grady was a member of White Oak Baptist Church, a past National Commander of the XPOW National Convention, charter member of Masonic Lodge 1396, member of the Sharon Temple, active in the Boys Scouts of America and treasurer for many years of troop 225 and member of the Order of the Arrow, a champion weightlifter when in the military and enjoyed hobbies and the outdoors, Grady Ulas Inzer Sr. was preceded in death by daughters, Thelma Helen Inzer and Josephine Inzer-Eaton; sisters Lorna Marr. Nelly Savage and Louise Hudgins; and survived by his wife, Charlotte Inzer; children, Grady Inzer Jr.,Bobby Inzer, John Inzer, Frances Bowen, Matthew Collier; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; stepchildren Dedra John and Richard Anderson; eight step-grandchildren; sister, Nelma Powell; brothers, Eugene Inzer and Laverne Inzer; many nieces and nephews, and extended family of friends and sponsored children. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with the Rev, Wade Duck officiating. Burial followed in Lakeview Memorial Gardens
