Smith,83, will be held at 2 P.M. Friday December 9,1988 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel in Rayville with his son Rev.James H.Smith,Rev.Gary Murrell and Rev.J.L. Knight officiating. Burial will be in Stevenson Cemetery near Rayville Mr. Smith died Wednesday,December 7, 1988 at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe after a lengthy illness. Mr. Smith was a retired carpenter and farmer,a member of the Church of God,Woodman of the World and was a former Richland Parish Police Juror who served for eight years. Survivors include his wife: Geneva Hardy Smith,Rayville;one son James H.Smith of Enterprise Alabama;one daughter Dorothy Golliher of West Monroe; and one sister Kathryn Martin of Shreveport. His last brother C.L.Smith of Winnsboro died on the same day as Henry O.Smith,December 7, 1988 their times of death being about one hour apart. C.L. was a almost lifelong resident and a retired business man and farmer of Winnsboro having served as Town Marshall and served three terms on the Policy Jury of Franklin Parish. C.L. Smith was instrumental in helping found the Franklin Parish Hospital while he served on the Police Jury as Henry.O. was instrumental in helping found the Richland Parish Hospital in Rayville during his term on the Police Jury. Deceased parents of Henry.O. and C.L. Smith were Viola Kate Thompson Smith and Columbus Lum Smith of Mississippi and Franklin Parish Louisiana. Deceased brothers and sisters are James W. Smith, Etta Lee Smith Polk, Minnie Mae Smith Polk, Fred S. Smith, Maggie Ruth Smith Neal, and George Harold Smith.
