Howard R. Sikes

Funeral services for Howard R. Sikes, 70, of Delhi, LA,were
held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2001, at the Cox Funeral 
Home Chapel with the Revs. Bill Gueringer and Eddy Shoemaker 
officiating. Burial followed in the Newton Cemetery, under the
directon of Cox Funeral Homes of Delhi.

Mr. Sikes died Aptil 10, 2001 in the North Monroe Community
Hospital in Monroe.  He was born May 11, 1930 in Delhi to Jeff Sikes 
and Bertha Bolling Sikes, both of whom preceded him in death. He
was also preceded in death by his brothers, Virgil, Vernon and Dave,
and by a sister, Billie Sikes.

Survivors include his wife, Bula W. Sikes of Delhi, LA; his sons Larry 
Sikes of Church Pointe, LA and Howard Sikes Jr. of Denham Springs, LA;
his daughters Debbie Ostheimer of Thibodeaux, LA and Darlene Sikes of 
Florence, SC; his brother, Charles Henry Sikes of West Monroe, LA; his
sisters, Louise Terrell of Many, LA and Cindie Coston of Houma, LA;
seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Terry Sikes, Tommy Sikes, Billy Ray Sikes, 
Don Terrell, Pat Wayne Patty, and Billy Buchan.
