(Uncle Jesse) Middleton, Sr., 75, of West Monroe will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 22, 2003, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. Bill Bearden officiating. Interment will be in Twin Cities Memorial Gardens. Mr. Middleton died on October 20, 2003, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center as a result of an acute cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Middleton was a retired fireman with the Monroe Fire Department, a deputy for Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Department, and a superintendent of Carpenters Local Union for at least 50 years. Huey's love of music started at the age of 16. He played the fiddle with Ed Miller and also at the Louisiana Hay Ride. He continued playing his music on local radio stations and area churches, assisted living, and senior citizens organizations. His legacy has been passed down to his children and their heirs. He waspreceded in death by his first wife, Ida Wayne Meeks Middleton, brother, Edmond Middleton, sister, Gladys Greer, and parents, Howard L. & Mattie Middleton. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Middleton, five daughters, Phyllis Newcomer, Deborah Plum and husband Don, Vickie Morris and husband Jonathan, Kathy Aaron and husband Randy and Penny Bragg and husband Mark, son, Huey Phillip Middleton, Jr. and his wife Keffney, sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four sisters, Mary Caldwell, Peggy Lee, Estelle Greer, and Judy McDonald, brother, Howard Middleton, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Charles Beach, Jimmy Beach, Joey Beach, Randy Lee, Andy Lee and Phillip Beach. Honorary pallbearers will be retired Monroe Firemen including, Woodrow Greer, Charles McGough, Monte McGough, and Phil Richards. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
