Cheek Services for Mrs. Ida Laura Wiggins Cheek, age 83, of Rayville, were held Monday, December 13,2004 at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. W.W. Lovett Jr., officiating, assisted be the Rev. Bill Gueringer. Burial followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville. Mrs. Cheek was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; Henry Shephard Wiggins and Laura Virginia Jayroe Wiggins; her husband of 49 ˝ years, Robert Edward Cheek; sister, Sue Ann Anderson; and brothers Elmer Wiggins and John Wiggins. Survivors include sons, Vic Cheek and wife Connie of Holly Ridge and Nolan Cheek and wife, Patricia, of Start; daughters; Ellen Harveston and her husband Darrell, of West Monroe and Laura V. Cheek; seventeen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Gregory Robert Harveston of Monroe, Will Cheek and wife Roxanne, Breonna, Alexis and Reece of Holly Ridge; Monica Frost and husband, Bubba, Maddie, Katie and Try of Rayville; Dara Harvey and husband Shane, Robert, and Alexa of West Monroe; Ben Cheek and wife Kara and Ariah of West Monroe;Tyler Cheek and wife Ashley of Start; Amy Cheek of Holly Ridge; Leslie Liston and husbamd Jaden of St. Peter’s MO; Emily Hunter of Creve Coeur, MO; Cara Brooke Clark and Ethan Clark of O’Fallon, MO; Kelsie Cheek of Holly Ridge, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Haley, Hannah and Clayton Cheek of Start; sisters, Bertie Allen of Archibald, Nettie Bradshaw of Rayville, and Mildred Burroughs of Rayville; sisters-in-law; Dallas Knight of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Mary DeMoss of Tallulah, Aline Hurley of Rayville, Dale Wiggins of Rayville, and Madge Huff of Start; numerous nieces and nephews and many children she helped raise as well as many more children she taught in Sunday School for over 40 years, Pallbearers will be Will Cheek, Ben Cheek, Terry Rainbolt, Mike McNaughton, Dusty O’Neal and Buddy Bradshaw.
