Keith Evans and Bro. David Herrington officiating. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, a World War II vetran, a farmer and an avid quail hunter. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lannie McCowin Thompson of Rayville; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Patricia Thompson of Rayville, two daughters and sons-in-law, June and Buddy McCartney of Rayville and Carol and Ralph Barker of Rayville; a sister Lorenda Stokes of Rayville;seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous niecesand nephews. Pallbearers were B.B. Thompson, Bobby McCowin, John Thompson, Mike Thompson, Terry Thompson and Tommy Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were W.D. Beevers, W.J. Dew, George Franklin. Ben Love and Claude Ray.
