All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Monroe Man is Killed on Deer Hunt -Julian Tucker Black Tuesday  December 23, 1975 Julian Tucker Black Farmerville - A 29-year-old Monroe man was killed here Tuesday morning while deer hunting with a friend in the Union Game Reserve approximately nine miles north of Farmerville.   Union Parish Chief Deputy Glenn Barron said Julian Tucker Black died as the result of a 30-30 caliber rifle shot to the right front shoulder.   The accident occurred around 10:45 a.m. Barron said.Barron said Black's hunting companion, Jessie J. Underwood, 27, also of Monroe, told him that Black was walking ahead of him when Underwood became entangled in a growth of vines and tripped.When he fell, Underwood said, the rifle discharged, striking Black in the shoulder.   Union Parish Coroner Dr. John Norris pronounced Black dead on the scene.   Barron said the incident was still under investigation.   Funeral arrangements for Mr. Black are incomplete at Kilpatrick's Funeral Home of Monroe. He was a supervisor at Louisiana Training Institute, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Monroe Church of God.   Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mable Black of Monroe; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Black of Monroe; three sons, Jimmie Black, John Black and Steven Black, all of Monroe; three brothers, Vernon Eugene Black of Epps, James Glendon Black of Texas and Dennis Leland Black of Biloxi,Miss.
