Cade, 76, leading citizen of the upper part of this parish, died in a Monroe hospital Wednesday, April 26, at 3 A.M.. Funeral services and interment were held at the Mann cemetery, 12 miles north of Rayville. Rev.. S.W. B. Colvin, Methodist minister, officiated at the service, and the Mulhearn funeral Home directed the interment. Mr. Cade is survived by his wife, three sons, Willie, Gus and Charles Cade all of Rayville' two daughters, Mrs. Annie Freeland, and Mrs. Nannie Golliher of Rayville; and two sisters Mrs.M.Jackson of Rayville and Mrs. Charlie Combs of Winnsboro. Jeff Cade was born in Noxubee County, Miss June 18, 1867, and came to Richland Parish in 1894, fifty years ago, and has resided here ever since. During this half century of residence here he always worked unselfishly for the greatest good to the greatest number. While never seeking public office, he worked for the welfare and advancement of his community, and was the type of good citizen such as form the backbone any successful section of this country. While being a good neighbor he was also a good home man, and reared a splendid family to carry on where he left off.
