 Joe Edward Newman

Joe Edward Newman, born June 27, 1939 in Gilmer, TX, went to be with
 The Lord July 9, 2007. Mr. Newman was a Past Master Archives Lodge #1399 
AF&AM, and Arabia Shrine of Houston, and a member of the Archives Eastern 
Star #1095. 

Mr. Newman was a former resident of Richland Parish and graduated from Delhi
High School.

Mr. Newman's survivors include his wife of 46 years, Janice Newman; 
sons, Lewis Newman and his wife Karen, and L. Allan Newman and his wife Michelle; 
grandchildren, Kevin Casten, Christopher Newman, Lance Newman, Leslie Newman, 
and Ashton Bordovsky; brother, Bobby Newman and his wife Judi; sister, Carolyn 
Finklea and her husband Robert; and a brother-in-law and sisters- in-law. The family 
will receive visitors from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at 
Fairmont Funeral Home, 6777 Fairmont Pkwy. Pasadena. A celebration of Joe's life 
will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at First Baptist Church of Pasadena, 
7500 Fairmont Pkwy. Pasadena. A private family interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, 
donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital of Houston or to M.D. Anderson Cancer
