"Coach" Jennings, Sr. As Printed in Richland Beacon News Rayville, La. Services for John B. "Coach" Jennings, Sr. age 80 of Rayville, La. will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 12, 2000 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel-Rayville, La with Rev. William Baldridge and Father Thomas Flynn officiating. Burial will be in Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Holley funeral Home of Rayville, LA. Mr. Jennings died Monday April 10, 2000 Mr. Jennings worked many years in the Richland Parish School System. In 1952 he came to teach at the Rayville Junior High School, later becoming the school's principal. Mr. Jennings was vey active in youth sports. He helped many years with the Rayville Little League Baseball and was an assistant coach with both the Ravyille High School football and basketball teams. after his retirement in 1980 as principal, Mr. Jennings served as a member of the Richland Parish School Board. Mr. Jennings was also a World War II Air Force Veteran. Survivors include his wife; Virginia Jennings of Rayville, LA; daughter: Jane Kelly of Bossier City, LA; sons and daughter-in-law: John B. Jennings, Jr. and wife Pam of West Monroe, LA and William Jennings of Houston, TX: three grandchildren; Joanna Jennings of Monroe, LA, Patrick Kelly and Ann Elizabeth Kelly both of Bossier City, LA; sister Fern Williams of Laurel, MS; and brother Frank Jennings of Boca Raton, FL. Pallbearers will be Jim Berry, George Gladney, Don Hebert, Billy Coenen, Walter Cochran, David Wisenor, Charles Chainey and Kenneth Newsom. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. J.E. Ball, Bernard Waite, Dr. David Thompson, Albert Wynn and William Green. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
