 Katie Ruth Whitten 

Funeral Service for Katie Ruth Whitten, 83, of Start, LA. were held at 
2:00 PM Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Crew Lake United Methodist Church, 
Start LA with Rev. Carroll Johnson officiating. Internment followed in 
Start Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, 
Rayville, LA 

Katie Whitten was born on May 9, 1923 in Rayville, LA. and passed away 
on Thursday, March 22, 2007 in Start, LA. 

Katie was a member of Crew Lake United Methodist Church where she was a 
member of the choir. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and playing ROOK 
with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her Husband, 
Thomas Whitten; Parents, Sol and Minnie Watts and Brothers, John Richard 
Watts and Jesse Watts 

Survivors include her Sons, Roger Whitten and wife, Charlotte of Spring, 
TX, and Rickey Whitten of Start, LA.; Granddaughters, Rachel, Jessica and 
Stacey; Great Granddaughters, Kathryn and Lyndsey; Brother, James Hinton 
Watts and wife Louise of Start, LA.; Extended Family, Robyne and Delbert 
Crow of Start, LA. 

Pallbearers were Bentley Curry, Walter Garner, Mickey Whitten, Freddy 
Whitten, Doug Sullivan and Eddie DeFreese
