All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Lula Bell Templeton Mrs. Lula Bell Templeton passed away at the age of 81 at the Richland Parish Hospital, Rayville, June 29, 1973 after a few hours of illness. She was a life-long resident of Richland Parish, born at Alto in 1892. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, 1973 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Rayville where she was a member, with Dr. H.R. Herrington officiating, assisted by Rev. Gene Hill of Holly Ridge. Interment was in the Greer Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville. Survivors include three sons, Woodroe Templeton, Wesley Templeton and Claude Templeton; two daughters, Vernie Ellis and Jettie Sharbono; all of Rayville; one brother, A.L.Telano of Monroe; one sister, Maude Gable of Start; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers were her nephews, Willie Telano, Jr., Glenn Gable, Beadie Lammert, Earl Telano, Teddy Jo Telano and Clifford Tharp. ********************* **Submitter's notes: Lula Bell Sheppard was born January 22, 1892 in Alto, Ouachita Parish, LA, the daughter of James Martin "Jim" Sheppard and Lou Ann Rushing Sheppard. She married King Templeton on Feb 12, 1908 in Bosco, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana.
