Ken Bowman officiating. Burial will be at Start Cemetary. Mrs. Whitten was born June 18, 1913 in Start LA. Mrs. Whitten passed away at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Whitten's career included service at Rayville High School cafeteria, Frank Walker's in Monroe and Glenwood Hospital's Dietary Department in West Monroe. She played basketball in school was a fan of the Lady Indians basketball team at ULM, attending many home games. She believed in the Lord Jesus Christ; she loved and cared for her family and friends dearly. She delighted in her grandchildren and their children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Leon Eppinette and Maude Bennett Eppinette; her husband Martin Luther Whitten; her son, John Sidney Whitten, Sr.; and her brothers Raymond Archie Eppinette, Sr. and Allen Edward Eppinette. Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth Whitten Johnston and her husband Charles Johnston, Sr., of Start, Betty Faye Whitten of Monroe; grandchildren, Karen Hart and husband Rusty, Johnette Whitten, Johnny Whitten and wife Debbie , Diana Litton and husband Hank, Russell Brent Whitten and wife Linda, Bobby Hendrix Jr., Marty Hendrix and wife Rhonda, Troy Whitten and wife Beatriz, Claudio Whitten; fourteen great grandchildren, and fourteen great, great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Marty Hendrix, Bobby Hendrix, Jr., Russell Brent Whitten, Johnny Whitten, Ben Hart, and Michael Hart.
