In Memory of Mrs. Lizzie E. Wheatley


Mrs. Lizzie E. Wheatley, nee Norwood, died Wednesday, May 29th, 
age 74 years, 1 month, 19 days, and was laid to rest in Lone 
Cherry cemetery, Thursday, May 30th.
Mrs. Wheatley was born in Franklin Parish, April 10th, 1844.  
Her father died before her birth, and her mother when she was 
seven years.  She was raised by her stepfather, Dr. William Rapp.  
She was married to John C. Wheatley, March 26th, 1859.  Early a 
widow with five children, three boys and two girls, the latter 
survive her.  Mrs. A. L. Hewitt, of Mangham, and Mrs. Mike Graney, 
of Crowville.
She made her home with Mrs. Hewitt, and has been living in Richland parish nine years.  The love between mother and daughter was 
lovely to see; and she was a dear mother, to know her was to 
love her.
