Lana graduated from Rayville High School and Northeast Louisiana University with a degree in pharmacy. She worked at several pharmacies in Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Monroe and Oak Grove. It was necessary for her to take disability retirement several years ago. Lana's life was centered on her family and her Christian beliefs. She was happiest when she was planning and anticipating family events which included all of her children and grandchildren. Her family has enjoyed and will remember the many wonderful times when the entire family was together. She was very proud of each of her nine grandchildren and was considered by them all to be a great "Nana." Lana had strong Christian beliefs and shared them openly with anyone she could, whether it was a friend, relative, or stranger. Although she was involved in several church activities, she felt a special calling for the Fair Ministry at First West. She spent hours ministering to the fair workers both physically and spiritually. Lana was a key person in her Life Group and was always looking for opportunities to reach out to visitors or new members. Lana was a wonderful person and will be missed by many relatives and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to the members of the Dioko Life Group, Pam Hill, Jane Jones, and Paula Gates. They also wish to thank the staff of Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe for the wonderful care they extended to Lana during her stay there. The family requests that instead of flowers, memorials be made to The Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 4196, Monroe, Louisiana, 71211, or the Fair Ministry at First West, 500 Pine Street West Monroe Louisiana 71291.
