Interment followed in Lone Cherry Cemetery, Mangham, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA Lonnie Free was born on July 18, 1948 in Monroe, LA and passed away on Friday, January 12, 2007 at his residence in Rayville, LA. Lonnie was an Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his Father, Houston Vermon Free. Survivors include his Wife, Glenda Southall Free of Rayville; Son, Roger Free of Ferriday, LA; Mother, Lessie Ramsey of Start, LA; Step Children, Angela Nelson of Oklahoma City, OK, James Thomas Bruton of Kaplan, LA, Becky Buxton of Sicily Island, LA and Rachel Bruton of LaMarque, TX; Special Granddaughter, Ashton; Siblings, Linda Odom, John Overstreet, Benny Overstreet, Virginia Lewis, Mike Overstreet, Stevie Overstreet and Tony Overstreet and 18 -Grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kenneth Hoyle, Chris Leyse, Shawn Leyse, Mike Funderburk, Timothy Jinks and Timothy Odom. Honorary pallbearers were John Crocker and Willie Crawford.
