Jones, 68, of Rayville were held at 2 p.m. March 29 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Rayville with the Rev. Wayne Allen officiating. Internment followed at the McKnight Cemetery near Holly Ridge under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home. Mr. Jones died March 26. He was an army veteran and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Hinze Jones. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jones of Eros; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ava Nan and LaDell Pate of Eros and Carolyn and Reggie Parham of Pineville; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Teressa Cater of Crossett, Arkansas; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jim Merriweather of West Monroe; four brothers and three sisters-in law, Thomas M. and Opal Jones of Rayville, LeRoy and Mary Jones of Spring Lake, Michigan, Robert Jones of Rayville and Roger and Barbara Jones of West Monroe; nine grandchildren,thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbbearers were Thomas Jones, Robert McCarty, Leo Whitstine, Jimmy Ray Merriweather, Roger Jones and Thomas "Duke" Jones.
