Brister,77, of Rayville, were held May 23 at New Prospect Baptist Church in Darnell with the Rev.Pat Lofton and the Rev. Walter Cloud officiating. Burail followed in Unity Cemetery in Darnell under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home. Mr. Brister passed away May 22,2002. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Allie Tannehille Brister of Rayville; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet Ann and Steve Deville of Fort Polk, LA.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Wayne Brister of Epps and Michael Ray and Toni Brister of Spring, TX., a stepdaughter, Janie Tannehill of Walker; two step-sons and daughters-in-law, Benny and Dorothy Tannehill of West Monore and Freddy and Rose Tannehill of Henderson, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Lorena and Joe Savage of Stonewall; two brothers and sisters-in-law, K.C. “Pete” and Liz Brister of Pioneer and A.G.”Buck” and Bobbie Brister of West Monroe; an aunt, Mrs. Edna Cockerham of Pioneer; three grandaughters, five grandsons, three nephews, 10 nieces and a number of cousins and friends. His nephews served as pallbearers. They were Travis Brister, Kenny Brister, Gary Savage, Steve Adams, Dar Eppinette, Ralph Reeves, Roy Courville, and Frankie Jones.
