Mrs. Reid lived in Kansas City, MO after her marriage to Thomas Sutherland Reid on August 30, 1947. They were both associated with the Lynn Insurance and Financial Holdings. They later retired to Atlantis, FL. Mrs. Reid was the daughter of the late Robert Hearsey and Susie Hill Lynn of Archibald, LA and the granddaughter of Jesse William and Salethia Archibald Lynn, whose parents were among the founders of Archibald, LA. She was also the granddaughter of Sarah Ida "Sallie" Hill of Richland Parish and the late Tom Hill. In her youth, Mrs. Reid was a member of the Archibald Presbyterian Church. She attended school in Archibald and was graduated from Mangham High School. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, descended from Josiah Burton Archibald, an early pioneer in Richland Parish. Mrs. Reid was an avid golfer and belonged to the Atlantis Golf Club in Florida. Mrs. Reid was predeceased by her husband, Thomas S. Reid; a daughter, Frances Adamson; a brother, R.H. Lynn, Jr., of Archibald, LA; and three sisters, Kate Lynn Preston of Shreveport, LA; Jessie Lynn Bell of Vicksburg, MS and Earline Lynn Brown of Lantana, FL. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann D'Alton of Sunapee, NH; two grandsons, Gordon Reid Adamson of Redmond, WA and Austin D'Alton, Jr. of Winterpark, FL; one granddaughter, Andrea D'Alton Fitzgerald of Franconia, NH and seven great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, September 6, at the Lynn Cemetery, Archibald, LA, with the Reverend John Albright of Rayville Presbyterian Church presiding under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, from 5:30PM to 7:30PM at the Mulhearn Funeral Home , Rayville. Pallbearers will be Tommy Lynn, Bart Bell, Greg Bazard, Jimmy Logan, Gena Hill, and Tom Hill.
