Jack Adcock Jr.,85 of Rayville were held May 27,2004 at Boeuf River Baptist church in Rayville with the Rev. David Herrington,and the Rev.Benton Moore officiating. Internment followed in Muhlearn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Monroe under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home of Rayville. Moody M. Jack Adcock, was born August 31, 1918 and passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Tuesday morning, May 25,2004. He was the oldest surviving recipient of bypass surgery performed by the renowned Dr. Cooley of St, Luke Hospital in Houston, Texas in 1974. Mr. Adcock was a seventy year resident, farmer and cattleman of Richland Parish. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association. Mr. Adcock was a devoted member of Boeuf River Baptist Church where he was, until Tuesday, the last surviving continuous charter member. He served his church as an honorary deacon. In his youth he worked for Interstate Oil and Pipline Co.He later drove a school bus for Richland Parish ubtil his retirement, In his later life he served as Deputy Sheriff for four years. He also worked for Mr. Dallas Thomason's cattle operation unstil he was 82 years old. Mr. Adcock is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elsie Peterson Adcock, two sisters, Virgie Clark of Rayville and Geneva Clark of Henderson, Texas; one sister in law Ollie Adcock Miller; two daughters, Jackie Adcock Brown Frizell of Pisgah Forest, N.C. and Patsy Adcock Smith of Rayville, La; ten grandchildren, Fran, Alita, Patti, Kim, Brad, Terri, Traci, Wesley, Scotti and Kevin; twenty-grandchildren, Arthur, Ashley, Kaci, Bradley, Josh, Seth, Sarah, Natalia, Chris, Daniel, Kathryn, Anna, Alissa, Charity, Victoria, April, Morgan, Parker, Aidia and Kaman; four great-great grandchildren, Joshua, Cassidy, Nathan and Dustin. Mr.Adcock leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was a lover of Richland Parish and will be greatly missed. Pallbearers were his nephews, Steve Adcock, Donnie Adcock, Ray Adcock, Ronnie Adcock, Arnold Adcock and Joe Meeks. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Boeuf River Baptist Church.
