Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Alford Word, 72 of Rayville,
were held July 18 at Start Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Smart
and the Rev. Alan  Miller officiating.

Burial followed in Wynn Island Cemetery near Start under the
Direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville.

Mrs. Word passed away July 17 after a lengthy illness.

She was a member of Start Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and
Christine Word, George and Connie Word and Lynn and
Connie Word, all of Start; a sister, Pearl Wynn of Start; three
brothers, George Alford of Start, Joe Alford of  Winsor, MO., 
and  Clyde Stephens of Bastrop; three grandchildren, George 
Earl Word Jr., Kelly Word Futch and Matthew Lee Word; and
two great grandchildren, George  E. Word III  and Julie Futch.

Pallbearers were George Earl  Word Jr., Matthew Lee Word, Cliff
Duffey, Danny Williams, Willie Nobles, Jr., John Goforth,
and George Goforth.
