John Albright officiating. Interment to follow in Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA. Mrs. Buie was born on January 30, 1922, in Birmingham, AL, and passed away on January 24, 2006 after a brief illness at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville, LA. She attended Byrd High School in Shreveport, LA, and was a graduate of Neville High School in Monroe, LA, where she was proud to be a Neville High School Cheerleader. As a member of Rayville Presbyterian Church, she served as an elder. Also, she attended the "Something More" Sunday school class and Mattie Haley Circle at Rayville United Methodist Church. After working at Hebert's and Albert's Men's Wear for forty-two years, she retired in August 2005. She was known for her quick wit, graciousness, and love for people. On September 28, 1941, she and Henry Allen Buie, Jr. were married. They had one daughter, Paula Buie Cumpton. She was preceded in death by her parents Ridgley Alexander McCrary and Pauline Fancher McCrary, and her husband Henry Allen Buie, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Paula Buie Cumpton and husband Donald Roy Cumpton, of Rayville; three grandchildren, Ashley Cumpton Thom and husband James Alexander Thom V of Baton Rouge, Buie Robinson Cumpton and wife Lindsey Dixon Cumpton, of Rayville, Crary Linton Cumpton of Washington, D. C.; two great granddaughters; Lillia Wynn Cumpton and Mary Scott Thom. Pallbearers will be Jerry W. Hollis, James L. Whitman, Jr., Terry A. Copeland, William R. Coenen, Jr., Donnie C. Foster, James L. McConathy, Jr., Bobby L. Cumpton, Charles R. Chaney. Honorary pallbearers will be Theo J. Coenen, III, and John C. Purvis, Sr. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Rayville Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rayville Presbyterian Church.
