Shane Lester and Bro. Charles Best officiating. Interment followed in Faith Memorial Park Cemetery, Delhi, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville. Ray Allen Best was born on October 28, 1968 in Vicksburg, MS and passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2007. Ray loved music, played drums with the vigor and talent like no one else in Northeast Louisiana. By trade, he was a self-taught computer wizard, though he worked more for enjoyment than for profit. He was a fun loving guy; who was very close to his family, especially his two sons who are so much like him. He never met a stranger and had many many friends, who cared as much about him as he did them. Ray was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, James D. and Pauline Best and Maternal Grandparents, Oliver Lee Copes and Ethelyn Copes Warbington. Survivors include his Wife, Lisa O'Neal Best of Delhi; Sons, Canaan Ray Best and Alex Ray Best both of Delhi; Parents, Allen Ray and Lynda Best of Delhi; Sister, Taffy Griffin and husband, Kenneth of Delhi; Niece and Nephew, Caleb Loftin of Delhi and A1C Chelsea Loftin of Barksdale AFB, LA; numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a host of Friends. Pallbearers were Sean Sikes, Michael “Bubba” Perry, Chris Blaylock, Scott Hosea, Darren LaBorde, Brad Rollins, Chris O’Neal, and Benji Beard. Honorary pallbearer were his past and present Band Members and Steven Taylor.
