Nobles, 64, of Mangham, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Long Cherry Baptist Church in Mangham with the Revs. Claude Jenkins and Doyle Adams officiating. Interment was in Buie Cemetery in Mangham under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville. Mr. Nobles died Saturday, November 20, 1976, at Richland Parish Hospital in Rayville after a brief illness. He was a native of Brandon, Miss., a member of Long Cherry Baptist Church in Mangham, the Mangham Masonic Lodge and Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mallie K. Nobles of Mangham; four sons, James Roy Nobles, Claude Nobles and Clifton Nobles, all of Mangham and Warren Nobles of Rayville; three daughters, Mrs. Huey Littles and Mrs. Billy Taylor, both of Baskin and Mrs. Jimmy Ray Oliveaux of Ferriday; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Miller of Monroe and Mrs. Morse Valentine of Winnsboro; one brother, Willie Nobles of Start; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Robert Byrtie Nobles, the son of James Runnells Nobles and Elizabeth Dorcas Crawford Nobles, was born near Brandon, Rankin County, MS, December 15, 1911. He married Mallie Kate Royals, the daughter of James Carroll Royals and Mary Frances Allen Royals, April 12, 1931 in Mangham, Richland Parish, LA. He died November 20, 1976.
