All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Ruth Pharis Tauzin Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Pharis Tauzin were held May 1 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel in Rayville with Dr. Ernest Winburn officiating. Burial followed in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches under the direstion of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville. Mrs. Tauzin died Monday after a brief illness. She was born in Natchitoches of March 9, 1907 and recently celebrated her 95th birthday. She attended Normal, now Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. She enjoyed life with her family and loving friends of Rayville and during that time managed a men's clothier store for 25 years and participated in many church and civic activities. She was a role model to her son in forming good work habits and people skills. She is preceded indeath by her loving hjusband Joseph "Clarence" Tauzin; her parents,Elijah and Rosa Pharis; her sisters, Ruby, Birdie,Grace and Gertrude; and her brothers, Rudy, John T., Ed and Fred Pharis. Survivors include a son, Joseph C. Tauzin Jr. and wife, Caroline; three grandchildren, Todd C., J.Paul ad wife Juli, and Julie E. Tauzin; gteat grandchildren, Harrison Paul and Jewels Faulkner Tauzin; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Pallbearersin Rayville were Aubrey Solomon, Theo Coenen, Sonny Bond, George Gladney,Bubba Chaney and Benny Walker. Pallbearers at internment in Natchitoches were Steve Pharis, Bill Goodman, Henry Tauzin, Travis Guin, Mike Vercher and Gary Guin. A special thanks to her caregivers at Azalea Estates and The Glen for their loving care of "Miss Ruth". Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Rayville or to the charity of the donor's choice.
