 Ruth C. Upton
Services for Mrs. Ruth C. Upton, age 83, of Rayville, LA, will be 
held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at the Holly Ridge United 
Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Townsend officiating. Interment will 
follow in Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Holley 
Funeral Home Rayville, LA.

Mrs. Upton was born on July 20, 1920 and passed away on Monday, 
June 7, 2004.

Mrs. Upton was a member of the Holly Ridge United Methodist Church. 
She was a retired school teacher with the Richland Parish School 
System. Mrs. Upton was a member of the D.A.R. and a volunteer worker 
with the Rymes Memorial Library in Rayville, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar C. Upton; sisters: 
Pola Falge and Billie Jean Mix; brothers: Gordon A. Cain and Edward M. 
Cain; great granddaughter: Hope Escalon.

Survivors include: daughter: Jane Puderer of Rayville, LA, son: 
Gordon Upton and wife, Patti of Rayville, LA, granddaughters : 
Lynn Escalon and husband, Wade of Rayville, LA, Becky Upton of 
Rayville, LA; grandson: Bryan Puderer and wife, Vickie of Calhoun, 
LA; great grandchildren: Todd Puderer of Calhoun, LA, Stephen 
Puderer of Calhoun, LA, Logan Escalon of Rayville, LA; brother: Dr. 
Frank A. Cain and wife, Katherine of Lake Providence, LA; numerous 
nieces, nephews and close friends.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hubbard, Todd Puderer, Stephen Puderer, 
Tommy Watson, Tom Mix, and Wade Escalon.Honorary Pallbearers: Larry 
Lyle and George A. Ineichen.

The family request memorials be made to the Holly Ridge United 
Methodist Church 1982 Hwy 583 Rayville, LA. 71269.
