Monroe  Morning  World
  Edwin Burk Smith age 66, died last night at his residence on Route 2 in 
Rayville, La.  Graveside services will be held tommorrow afternoon at 2:00 at 
the Shanks Cemetery, Richland Parish, La.  He was born March 8, 1897. 
  He is survived by his five sisters, Mrs. Julie Ann Stanley, Rayville, 
La.,Mrs. W.T. Clack, Oak Ridge, La., Mrs. Henry Victory, Mer Rouge, La., Mrs. 
Otto Harris, Bastrop, La., two brothers, Hodge Smith, Mounds, La., and Dink 
Smith, Mounds, La.; two daughters: Mrs. Gladys Taylor, Crossett, Ark, Mrs. 
Ruth O'Neal, Chicago, Ill., 
  Mr. Smith had lived at the Rayville address for the past nine years with his 
sister, Mrs. Stanley.  He was a life long resident of Louisiana and had made 
his home earlier in Morehouse Parish for 48 years.
