C. Hatten officiating. Burial followed in the Gwin Cemetery in Mangham, La., under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Homes of Rayville. Mr. Stephenson died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at his residence, following a lengthy illness. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Oak Grove, La., and worked for many years as a law enforcement officer, serving with both the Rayville and Mangham police departments. Mr. Stephenson loved to play dominoes and was an avid fisherman. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of many. Survivors include his wife, Elsye Jordan Stephenson of Mangham, LA; his five sons and daughters-in-law - Chuck and Rachel Stephenson, Mike and Sharon Stephenson, Tim and Sheila Stephenson, and Brandon Stephenson and Caleb Stephenson; his grandchildren and their spouses - Mandi Stephenson Hollis and her husband, Cory, Andy Stephenson and his wife, Crystal, Mo Stephenson, Brandy Stephenson Williams, Sarah Stephenson, Brandon Blaylock, Alan Stephenson, Jeffrey Stephenson and Jordan Stephenson; two great grandchildren - Alyssa Williams and Jonathan Williams; his sisters and brothers-in-law - Allie Mae and M. H. Brister, Nelwyn and Jake Martin; his brother and sister-in-law - Dan and Elizabeth Stephenson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other loving relatives and friends. Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Blaylock, Andy Stephenson, Travis Stephenson, Benny Tannehill, John Ransey and Charles McDonald. Honorary pallbearers were Lorell Graham, Walter Free, James Garner, James Stephenson, Dr. David Thompson and Dr. Lester W. Johnson.
