God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best" Funeral services for Steven Doyle Hough, 18, of Delhi will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 5, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Delhi. Bro. Paul Lipe will officiate. Steven died Wednesday at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was a 2003 graduate of Riverfield Academy in Rayville and was attending ULL in Lafayette where he was majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Coaching. He was a member of the Delhi Presbyterian Church. Steven was an outstanding athlete having participated in numerous sporting acitivities while at Riverfield and during summer ball programs. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity while at ULL. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carey C. Stevens and his paternal grandparents, Beulah and Chester Hough. He is survived by his loving parents, Gloria and Doyle Hough of Delhi whom has enjoyed watching him grow into a fine young man and athlete who inspired them through his interaction and vitality with all he was in contact with. He is also survived by one brother: Cory Hough and his wife Nikki of Sterlington; two sisters: Lisa Abinante of Redwood Valley, CA, and Kim King of San Francisco, CA; one niece: Slye Hough of Sterlington; his maternal grandmother: Martha Stevens of Crowville, LA; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Coach David Wisenor, Coach Larry McLendon, Coach Donnie Foster, Coach Neil Turner, Coach Charles Johnston, Coach Mike Rainwater, Coach Jimmy Strong, Coach Sammy Nolan and Coach Jeff Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Riverfield Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track Teams along with his Summer Baseball Team Members and his Sigma Nu Fraternity Brothers of ULL. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM Friday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi, LA.
