Mr. Stevenson came to Richland Parish many years ago from Morehouse and has lived in the up-the-river-community ever since. He was one of the most progressive, practical, and advanced farmers of the parish. Judgement and study were employed in his methods and his yields were always greater than his neighbors. Along other lines he was an advanced thinker, and used his intelligence to the benefit of his community as well as for his own business success. Best of all about him was the big warm heart in his bosom, which beat in affection and devotion to his family and with sympathetic friendship to legions of those who came in contact with him in everyday life. He loved his own and he loved humanity in general. The writer feels a keen personal sorrow in the death of this old friend with whom he spent many, many happy days in the woods on camp hunts, where we were enabled to learn intimately the inner man. It was on these numerous outings that a rich friendship was cultivated to be cherished to the end. Knowing the good that was in his heart,we can truly sympathize with the breaved family who suffer such a great sorrow. The family of Mose Stevenson and the community which his life enriched feel deeply his loss, and we join in this general sorrow. (Picture of M.H.Stevenson family on Richland Pictures)
