Stevenson Dies Mrs.Ida Stevenson aged 67 years,8 months and 19 days, beloved wife of M.H.Stevenson of 12 miles north of Rayville, died at her home at 8:10 o'clock following a long and painful illness of many months with heart trouble. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock and the burial was in Mann Cemetery. Besides her husband the deceased is survived by three sons, Henry Stevenson of Rayville; Hollis Stevenson of Mer Rouge; Wesley Stevenson of Jonesboro; and five daughters ,Mrs. J.E. Hardy of Rayville, Mrs.W.M.White of Mer Rouge;Mrs.W.E.Belton , Mrs. Lola Higginbotham, and Mrs.Bryant Stanley of Monroe. Mrs. Stevenson had lived as the true and devoted companion, of M.H. Stevenson for over fifty years, rearing a large family, taking a prominent part in the church and civic affairs of her community, and endearing herself to a large and admiring circle of fond friends as well as her own family. She was a member of the Pentecost Church, and took an active part in the work of the church until failing health confined her to her home and bed. Mrs. Stevenson was the ideal of a true wife, a devoted and affectionate mother and a good friend and neighbor. Having lived in one community for so many years and worked so faithfully for the benefit of all, her presence will sorely be missed and the tears loved ones and friends shed at her grave will be carried on through years in appreciative memory of one who lived unselfishly for others. The Richland Beacon News sincerely sympathizes with the members of the bereaved family and offers its condolences to each of them in their great personal sorrow.
