It is only our duty as a journalist to state the fact of the killing without expressing an opinion. Dr. Chapman shot and killed Mr. R. Stoddard, a cousin of his, and for a long time a supposed warm friend, and inmate of his house, but who it is generally believed grossly violated the sacred rules of hospitality. It is needless for us to say more, and respect for the parties to this sad affair, prompts us to throw a veil over it, at least for the present. - Richland Beacon.
