[sic M.] Vann's Death. Last Monday morning Mr. M. Vann, residing four miles below Rayville, died at his home of swamp fever, after a protracted illness of several weeks. He was buried Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Vann, with his family, moved to our parish last fall from Alabama, and proved himself a good citizen and a gentleman. He leaves a wife and children, who have our sympathy and condolence in the hour of their bereavement. Additional Comments: Montgomery is buried in Horn Cemetery near Eastside Baptist Church. His wife Ada Wilkins Vann, and their two children Henry and Hortense moved back to Alabama after his death. Ada later married John W. Wood and is buried in Shady Grove Cemetery, Millry, Washington County, Alabama.
