Williamson, a prominent citizen of the lower part of this parish, died last Saturday night at his home after a long illness. He leaves a wife, two grown sons, and several smaller children to mourn his loss. Mr. Williamson was a big planter and well-known citizen of the parish who has been identified with the growth and development of Richland Parish for a number of years, in fact practically all his life. He had a large circle of relatives among our leading citizens, and also claimed many friends in all parts of the parish. He was a kind and indulgent husband and father, and a true friend, and a man such as any community regrets sincerely to lose. The Beacon-News joins the many friends of the family in offering condolence and sympathy in their great bereavement." NOTE: Edmund Nelson Williamson was born on September 3, 1855 in Sumpter Co., Alabama. He died May 6, 1916 in Richland Parish, Louisiana and is buried in Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe. His wife was Belle Connella Williamson, born February 20, 1881 in Trenton, Louisiana. She died October 3, 1944 and is buried next to her husband in Hasley Cemetery.
