McKay, 88 of Alto, LA, will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 8, 2004 at Alto Baptist Church in Alto, LA, with interment to follow in Gwin Cemetery in Mangham, LA. Mr. McKay passed away in San Antonio, TX, on October 1, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Smith McKay who passed away in 1987 and his parents Robert B. McKay and Jenny McKay of Alto, LA. He is survived by a sister Kathleen Ragland of St. Louis, MO; his son: Aurthur McKay of Vienna, VA; his daughter: Beatrice Caraway of San Antonio, TX; and sister-in-law: Zona McKay of Mangham, LA. He graduated from Mangham High School, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech, and graduated work in chemistry at Louisiana State, and graduate work in chemistry at Louisiana State University.He worked in the oil and construction industry before changing careers to serve as Minister of Education at the first Baptist Church of Louisville, MS, and the First Baptist Church of Rayville, LA, until his retirement.
