Willis Leonard "W.L." Russell


Funeral services for Willis Leonard "W. L." Russell, 89, of Delhi
will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, December 22, 2003 in the Chapel 
of First Baptist Church in Delhi. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM 
until 6:00 PM Sunday at First Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Everett 
Geis will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery under the 
direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi.

Mr. Leonard was born in Carthage, Mississippi, on Dec. 17, 1914
and departed this life Dec. 20, 2003

Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Fonza Russell and 
Virgie Watkins Russell, his wife Alma Lee Brownell Russell and two 
daughters, Sue Guthrie and Jean Chennault.

He is survived by a daughter, Faye Purvis and her husband, John of 
Rayville, LA; a sister, Minnie Ray of Delhi, LA, five grandchildren, 
ten great grandchildren and two nephews.

Pallbearers will be Pete Collins, Lefty Russell, Jimmy Guthrie, Chip 
Simmons, Cal Purvis and Eric Evans.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Russell, Monty Collins, Mac Collins, 
Todd Chop, Larry Cooper, Larry McDonald and Buddy Guthrie.
